Our estate is located in the Côtes de Thongue vineyard, in the heart of the Languedoc-Roussillon wine region.

The Protected Geographical Indication Côtes de Thongue, which bears the name of the Thongue river which crosses the sector, covers the territory of 23 municipalities of the Hérault.

The landscapes are hilly, plains being covered with small hills called “puechs”, at an altitude of less than 100 meters, and swept by the winds: the Tramontane and the Marin. The climate is Mediterranean, with very low rainfall (less than 600 mm on average over a year), mild winters and hot, dry summers.

Les principales formations géologiques du vignoble des Côtes de Thongue sont des marnes sableuses et graveleuses au nord et à l’est du secteur, des argiles au centre et des terrasses caillouteuses au sud.

In our estate, the soils are rather calcareous and of a very varied texture. Rather loamy (clay-sandy loam) and rich at the foot of our puech, the texture is more clayey (loamy-sandy clay) on the hillsides.

Our plots are staged from the bottom to the top of the hill. Below: a large plot of young vines, planted with Cinsault, Syrah, Grenache Blanc, Grenache Gris and Cabernet Sauvignon for an area of ​​1 hectare. Just above, on the first slopes of the hill, two pretty terraced plots provide beautiful clusters of Cinsault and Grenache over approximately 50 ares. Still a little higher, following the small path that climbs the hill, is a large plot of 75 ares planted with old Grenache vines, which watch over the young vines that have recently come to join them in a scattered manner. On the hillsides and the top of the hill, sectors classified as AOP Languedoc, 6 plots of Cinsault and Grenache wonderfully complement the vines of the estate on 1.5 hectares.

The estate is being restructured and expanded.

Two new plots, planted with Viognier on 1 hectare, are about to join the estate to the south-east, in order to allow a diversification of our future range of white wines. Another, in the northeast, fallow for 20 years, will be planted in the spring of 2022 with several other white grape varieties on around fifty ares.

We will also be offering you, very soon, other products from our vines. We are indeed working with a distiller in the region to be able to present to you soon some spirit drinks “custom” made from wines aged for many months in oak barrels by our predecessors at the Bourdic estate.
